Past Tense

Starting off with a vain picture of Pei Szi and me. Can you guess what this post will be about?

Hey there.....

It's really hard for me online due to the inefficiency of the wireless.
Thanks to a friend for lending me her broadband ^^
Been writing posts for the past few days but failed to upload the post on my blog. =(
And that's why I entitled this post as "Past Tense" as I'm going to write about the incidents that happened a few days earlier.

WARNING: This is going to be a long post~So run off and get yourself a drink or popcorn.

My friends and I participated in 30 Hours Famine last weekend. This program was first organised by World Vision International. "World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice." (Google up If you want to know more about it ^^)

It was a new experience for me. I heard about this program from a friend of mine. It was held from the 6th to 7th of August 2011 at our institute (Methodist Pilley Institute). Around 260 people participated, both from Pilley itself and also people from other places.

Interesting activities were carried out. The most memorable part, for me, of the 30 hours Famine was that when I took the role as a "pregnant mother". As it was the beggining of the game, I was guided to the "bidan" to "give birth". That feeling was so REALISTIC!! It felt as if i was really delivering a baby. I was laughing and sweating away throughout the whole process.

I am grateful and pleasured that I have the opportunity to join this program because I've learnt a lot and gained informations about the cultures and situations that people of different parts of the world face. They struggled for their live and strive on even when they are poverty-stricken just so they can live another second on this world, with or without their family beside them. They suffer mostly from starvation and illnesses. It is quite easy for us to get the food that we want and also seek for medical help when we're ill but those less fortunate people don't have the opportunity to live a healthy life.

Nowadays there are news about people taking away their own lives by commiting suicide, leaving their family, mourning for their lost one. This is how fragile our life can be. Remember that evenlife, so why not we reach out to them and at the same time think about how precious our lives are? If you failed once, doesn't mean that you'll fail forever! A single failure cannot determine your future. Give yourself a chance to stand up and give it another try. Some people yearn to live a healthy life, so why not reach out to those in need and at the same time, think about how precious our lives are?
